No. 1 Alabama is taking on No. 4 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta -- the site of last season's classic national title game between the same two teams. The Crimson Tide came in riding high with a 12-0 record, a Heisman Trophy front-runner in Tua Tagovailoa and a defense that has evolved into one of the most dangerous defenses of the Nick Saban era. That defense will go up against a Bulldogs offense led by quarterback Jake Fromm that is as balanced as any in the country.
Georgia holds a 21-14 lead at the half thanks to some big-time throws from quarterback Jake Fromm, who has two passing scores. Running back D'Andre Swift also has 66 yards and a touchdown. This has not been Alabama's sharpest half of football. Tagovailoa has struggled early, tweaking his ankle and throwing his third interception of the season. Towards the end of the second half, the Crimson Tide leaned on their ground game behind the two-headed monster of Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris. In four plays, Alabama marched 75 yards down the field and pulled to within a touchdown thanks to a Jacobs touchdown.
