Justin Gaethje made sure he had the final word on Saturday night.
He and James Vick traded insults and trash talk leading up to their main event bout on Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska. It took Gaethje just 87 seconds to knock Vick out and to reestablish himself as a fighter of significance in the UFC's lightweight division.
After being held at bay for the first minute of the fight by front kicks, Gaethje closed the distance with a blinding jab and then landed a hard right hand on Vick's jaw. The 6'3" contender crumpled to the canvas and Gaethje landed one ground-and-pound shot for good measure before the referee stepped in to call an end to the fight.

Gaethje had been on a two-fight losing streak and this victory was made even sweeter because of the bad blood between the two men. Vick was one a four-fight win streak, and this loss was made all the more bitter because of the issues with Gaethje, but also because it robbed him of the momentum he'd established.
Here's a glimpse of the reaction from other fighters and the MMA community after Gaethje's win:
Justin Gaethje is back. He KOs James Vick in the first. Brutal. Vicious. Vick is still out of sorts.

Oh my...
What. A. Finish!!! Vick is still out of it.

@Justin_Gaethje is a monster, always fun to watch this guy.

As if MMA Twitter couldn't love Justin Gaethje enough, he delivers a bonkers KO, admits reveling in his opponent's unconsciouness, calls out the boogeyman, and then jokes about fighting the in-cage interviewer. He's built for this.

Gaethje made a huge adjustment following two straight losses. In order to not take so much damage, just wipe your opponent out in under two minutes.

Gaethje's KO earned him one of the $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.

The other Performance of the Night bonus belonged to up-and-coming middleweight prospect Eryk Anders. He scored a KO win over Tim Williams with just 16 seconds remaining when he landed this vicious left-foot kick to his opponent's chin just as he was trying to get to his feet.
It's better late than never for Eryk Anders. Following a lethargic start, "Ya Boi" (11-1) pulls a Misaki-Akiyama, clanging Tim Williams with a head kick as his quarry stands up! The former Alabama linebacker has stopped eight of 11 wins, seven by knockout. #UFCLincoln pic.twitter.com/1Sh05fyozv

The win helped Anders rebound from a loss to Lyoto Machida in his last fight. Williams fell to 0-2 in the UFC with KO losses coming in both of those fights.
Finally, Cory Sandhagen and Iuri Alcantara earned the Fight of the Night bonus. After enduring some early troubles on the ground, Sandhagen came back with a vengeance in the second round.
