Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant sided with his teammate, Zaza Pachulia, over his ex-teammate Russell Westbrook.

After reviewing Saturday night’s third quarter tangle up between Pachulia and Westbrook, Durant concluded that the Warriors big man didn’t intentionally fall on Westbrook’s leg.

“I don’t think Zaza is trying to hurt anybody,” Durant said, according to The Mercury News. “He is clumsy, don’t get me wrong. A lot of big guys are. But I watched the tape.”

The tape shows Warriors guard Nick Young grab a rebound, sandwich Westbrook with Pachulia and then inadvertently catch Pachulia’s leg with his own, causing him to tumble onto Westbrook.

Westbrook’s opinion of the play was clear.

“Obviously it was intentional,” Westbrook said after the game. “He fell over my leg. He tried to hurt me. That’s how it goes.”

Asked if he thought Pachulia was a dirty player, Westbrook said, “For sure.”

Durant, who left the Thunder two summers ago, was adamant there was nothing intentional about the play.

“I don’t think he’s trying to hurt him at all,” he said. “It was an unfortunate play. And I’m glad Russ didn’t get hurt from that.”

Warriors coach Steve Kerr wouldn’t discuss the incident.

“I know people are talking about it,” he said. “I’m not into the drama.”
