The presence of Ivanka Trump, daughter of and a senior adviser to President Trump, at the final weekend of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang drew two very different reactions from U.S. Olympians Gus Kenworthy and Lauren Gibbs.

Kenworthy, a freestyle skier, was having none of it as far as her visit was concerned. “So proud of all these people! Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony!” he tweeted. “Well… Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, [what] is she doing here??”

On Sunday, Kenworthy, who made headlines for a public kiss with his boyfriend, threw a bit of shade the president’s way, too, tweeting that Russia’s gold-medal ice hockey victory over Germany in overtime was the country’s “biggest win since the 2016 US Presidential election!”

Ivanka Trump was there on a trip that touched on diplomacy and sports, with her father tweeting Thursday, “We cannot have a better or smarter person representing our country.” She arrived in South Korea on Friday and dined with South Koran President Moon Jae-in and, on Saturday, she caught up with Team USA bobsledder Lauren Gibbs, among others. Gibbs let her wear her silver medal for a bit.

“I feel like this almost is like trying on someone’s wedding band,” Trump joked. “Am I allowed?”

Gibbs posed for photos with Trump and press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and later tweeted a diplomatic reaction to the visit:

“It’s important to remember that we don’t have to agree on everything to get along, be civil to each other and enjoy each others company. #itsforamerica it was a pleasure to meet you both.”

Trump also met with the family of bobsledder Nathan Weber and visited with U.S. lugers Taylor Morris and Matt Mortensen, thanking the latter two, who are U.S. Army sergeants, for their service. She also took in speedskating and Big Air competition as well as the U.S. men’s curling team’s gold-medal performance.

“I’m so excited to be here. It’s just so incredibly inspiring,” Trump said (via the Associated Press). “It’s been an amazing couple of days, and such an honor and privilege to be here with our allies in South Korea and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished as a culture, a society economically and, of course, in sport.”
