SportsPulse: This year's class of quarterbacks is getting all the hype leading into the NFL Draft, but Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz says these four players could really shake up the draft board come April. USA TODAY Sports
The Buffalo Bills are adding a piece to their already formidable secondary.
Cornerback Vontae Davis is joining the Bills, Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star and USA TODAY Network confirmed.
Davis appeared to break the news himself with a tweet on Monday evening.
Davis, 29, was released by the Indianapolis Colts last November after complaining about his benching by then-coach Chuck Pagano. He also required groin surgery and spent the rest of the year unsigned as he recovered.
A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Davis also visited the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and Cleveland Browns.
In Buffalo, he joins a secondary that gave up just 14 passing touchdowns in 2017, the second-lowest total in the league despite ranking 20th overall in yards allowed (231 yards per game). Cornerback Tre'Davious White finished as the runner-up in rookie of the year voting, while fellow starter E.J. Gaines is set to become a free agent.
