The Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves are set to square off Game 3 of the 2021 World Series on Friday night in Atlanta. The best-of-seven series is tied 1-1. Houston in Game 2 on Wednesday night was able to even the series thanks in part to a strong start by José Urquidy and Jose Altuve's big night at the plate.
The stakes will be high in this one, as teams up 2-1 in a best-of-seven MLB postseason series go on to win that series more than 70 percent of the time. With that throat-clearing out of the way, let's get to the important stuff -- like how you can watch Wednesday night's game.
How to watch
Date: Friday, Oct. 29 | Time: 8:09 p.m. ET
Location: Truist Park (Atlanta, Georgia)
TV: FOX | Live stream: fuboTV (try for free)
Odds: HOU +101; ATL -111; O/U: 8.5 (via Caesars Sportsbook)
Starting pitchers: Luis Garcia (11-8, 3.48 ERA) vs. Ian Anderson (9-5, 3.58 ERA)
Preview
Houston's hopes will be high for Garcia. He struggled badly earlier in the postseason, but prior to his most recent start against the Red Sox in the ALCS he made some slight mechanical changes in response to knee discomfort. The results were increase velocity, sharper stuff, and much better results. Whether he's able to flash those improvements again on Friday will play a huge role in the outcome of Game 3.
As for Anderson, the 23-year-old right-hander has made three starts this postseason. Over those three starts, he's put up an ERA of 2.25 with 12 strikeouts and four walks in 12 innings.
Prediction
We'll say Garcia shoves again, and the heavily used Atlanta bullpen falters a bit in the middle innings.
Pick: Astros 3, Braves 1
