The Jets on Monday traded quarterback Sam Darnold to the Panthers.
So they won’t be trading down from the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They’ll surely take BYU quarterback Zach Wilson there. And it looks like the Panthers won’t be drafting a quarterback — like Ohio State’s Justin Fields — at No. 8.
In light of the Darnold trade, here is our latest full first-round mock draft projection:
1. Jaguars — QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson
No doubt about this one.
2. Jets — QB Zach Wilson, BYU
Will he fare any better than Sam Darnold did?
3. 49ers (from Dolphins/Texans) — QB Trey Lance, North Dakota State
The 49ers traded up to get a quarterback. The only question: Will it be Lance or Justin Fields?
4. Falcons — TE Kyle Pitts, Florida
One of the most talented players in this draft, but the Falcons will need a new quarterback at some point.
5. Bengals — CB Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech
Something of a surprise here, since some analysts consider Patrick Surtain to be this draft’s best cornerback.

6. Dolphins (from Eagles) — WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama
Size will be a concern in the NFL for the Heisman Trophy winner.
7. Lions — OT Penei Sewell, Oregon
Some protection for new Lions quarterback Jared Goff.
8. Panthers — Edge rusher Kwity Paye, Michigan
No need to take Fields here now, after the Darnold trade.
9. Broncos — QB Justin Fields, Ohio State
Somewhat of a surprise, as the Broncos decide to pull the plug on Drew Lock.
10. Cowboys — Edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, Georgia
Paye would be the preferred option, if he’s available.
11. Giants — OT/G Rashawn Slater, Northwestern
Receiver is also an option for the Giants, but they just signed Kenny Golladay. The line remains a massive issue.
12. Eagles (from 49ers) — WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama
Another surprise here, as the Eagles pass on Ja’Marr Chase to take Waddle. Will Howie Roseman regret this?
13. Chargers — WR Ja’Marr Chase, LSU
Justin Herbert will be thrilled with this pick, as he should be.
14. Vikings — CB Patrick Surtain, Alabama
Defensive-minded head coach Mike Zimmer is on the hot seat, and Surtain will help shore up his secondary.
15. Patriots — WR Kadarius Toney, Florida
No quarterback in the draft this year for the Patriots. Maybe next year.
16. Cardinals — OT Alex Leatherwood, Alabama
The Cardinals are going all-in this season. They’ll need more from Kyler Murray and his line.
17. Raiders — C Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma
Definitely the best center prospect available this year.
18. Dolphins — Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, Miami
Has he surpassed fellow Miami edge rusher Gregory Rousseau?
19. Washington — LB Micah Parsons, Penn State
He has top-15 talent, but just doesn’t play a position that’s a lock to be taken that high.
20. Bears — CB Tyson Campbell, Georgia
Don’t rule out Jaycee Horn here, as the Bears try to replace Kyle Fuller.
21. Colts — OT Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State
Some protection for new Colts quarterback Carson Wentz.
22. Titans — DL Christian Barmore, Alabama
Some help for the middle of Tennessee’s defensive line.
23. Jets (from Seahawks) — CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina
Joe Douglas basically has to take a cornerback high this year.
24. Steelers — QB Mac Jones, Alabama
The eventual replacement for Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh?
25. Jaguars (from Rams) — RB Najee Harris, Alabama
A weapon for Lawrence, as he will start from Day 1.
26. Browns — LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame
Not a sexy pick, but he will help the Browns’ defense in a big way.
27. Ravens — Edge rusher Jayson Oweh, Penn State
His draft stock is apparently rising, but he didn’t have any sacks last season.
28. Saints — WR Rondale Moore, Purdue
Another talented receiver with size concerns, since he’s just 5-foot-9.
29. Packers — OT Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech
This won’t make as many waves as the Packers picking Jordan Love late in Round 1 last year.
30. Bills — Edge rusher Gregory Rousseau, Miami
A lot of questions surrounding him. Limited tape, since he opted out of last season. But he’s a talent.
31. Chiefs — OL Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC
He can play multiple spots on the line — an asset the Chiefs could use.
32. Buccaneers — CB Greg Newsome, Northwestern
Todd Bowles gets another piece for his quietly dominant defense.
