On Friday at 6 p.m. ET, No. 1 seed South Carolina will take fellow on No. 1 seed Stanford in the NCAA Women's Final Four, looking for a spot in the championship game (stream on fuboTV, try for free). The last time these teams met was in the 2017 Final Four, with the Gamecocks winning on the way to an eventual national championship.
While UConn is a favorite to win this year, The Cardinal are the No. 1 overall seed and have ability to take it all the way.
The Cardinal won the Pac-12 title after defeating UCLA by 20 points and entered March Madness on a high. The 29-2 team has defeated every opponent in the tournament by double digits, beginning with 87-44 win over Utah Valley in the first round. They then knocked off Oklahoma State, Missouri State in the Sweet 16 and Louisville in the Elite Eight.
Stanford has made the Final Four six times since 2010, with the last trip in 2017. Their last national championship was in 1992.
The Gamecocks won the SEC tournament by defeating Georgia and earned a top seed. South Carolina began the tournament beating Mercer 79-43, then taking down Oregon State in the second round, Georgia Tech in the Sweet 16 and Texas in the Elite Eight. The Gamecocks have also defeated all their opponents by double digits.
This is their third time in the Final Four, with the last appearance coming in 2017 when they won their first national title.
