Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said Friday on NFL Network's Good Morning Football that there is "no doubt" Gardner Minshew is the team's quarterback:

Marrone added that while he feels good about Minshew, the organization still "might look at" a veteran quarterback to strengthen the position as a whole.
The top quarterbacks available on the free-agent market are longtime Carolina Panthers star Cam Newton and Andy Dalton, who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday.
NFL Network's Steve Wyche reported Friday that the Jaguars have interest in Dalton.
Minshew was a sixth-round draft pick out of Washington State last year, but when Nick Foles got injured in the first game of the season, he took over as the starting quarterback and Minshew Mania commenced.
The 23-year-old appeared in 14 games and went a respectable 6-6 in his 12 starts. He also completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns and six interceptions, and he rushed for 344 yards as well.
Although the jury is still out on whether Minshew can be a long-term franchise quarterback, his numbers as a rookie sixth-round pick were strong enough to earn another crack at the starting job.
Even so, signing Dalton would make sense on several levels for the Jags. For starters, the Jaguars are lacking when it comes to experience at the quarterback position after trading Foles to the Chicago Bears this offseason.
The primary backup is currently former Pittsburgh Steeler Joshua Dobbs, who has attempted only 12 passes in three NFL seasons. Rookie sixth-round pick Jake Luton is third on the depth chart.
Dalton has his limitations and is coming off a season in which he went 2-11 as a starter and was even benched for a period of time. He had arguably his worst career season statistically, completing 59.5 percent of his attempts for 3,494 yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
He is 70-61-2 in his career as a starter, however, with a solid touchdown-to-interception rating of 204-118.
Dalton is also a three-time Pro Bowler who led the Bengals to the playoffs in five straight seasons from 2011-15, although he was never able to win a playoff game.
Aside from the relative amount of success he has enjoyed, Dalton played under Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden for three seasons when he was the offensive coordinator of the Bengals from 2011-13, so there is already a comfort level present that could make Dalton an ideal fit as a veteran mentor behind Minshew.
