The college football rankings that matter matter will arrive on Tuesday, when the College Football Playoff committee releases its first 2018 top 25, but Sunday brings a fresh load of rankings from every other outlet.
After a Week 9 in which eight AP-ranked teams lost to unranked teams and Georgia, Washington State, and Penn State won ranked games, expect everything to feel like a fresh start anyway — in the bottom half of the rankings, at least. On Monday morning, we’ll also post an article predicting what the Playoff rankings will look like, just for fun.
Below, we’re collecting major top-25 rankings as they come out after Week 9.
Think of Tuesday’s Playoff committee rankings as a preview of the rankings that will decide the postseason. And think of Sunday’s main human poll releases as a preview of that preview.
