Alabama’s defense might be getting a huge boost for the College Football Playoff.
Christopher Allen, a fifth-year senior, has missed 12 games since the season opener. The 6-foot-4, 242-pounder recorded three tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery versus Miami. He sustained a foot injury in the matchup, and has missed time since.
Allen had a dynamic season in 2020 with 41 tackles, 13 tackles for loss (team-high), six sacks, five quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He earned second-team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches. Allen helped the Crimson Tide secure an undefeated national championship season. Could the veteran edge rusher return to action for the playoff?
Marcus Allen, Christopher’s brother, shared a post to Facebook that has Tide fans excited.
He said Alabama’s outside linebacker will play in the playoff.
Hopefully, fans will see him against Cincinnati on New Year’s Eve in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
