These weren’t the birds viewers expected to see on Monday night.
During the Manning brothers’ broadcast of “Monday Night Football” between the Eagles and Cowboys, Eli Manning likely angered the FCC when he flipped off the camera with both hands.
Former Rams and Eagles defensive lineman Chris Long was a guest on the broadcast, and Manning was trying to describe what playing in Philadelphia was like from his time with the Giants.
“You go to Philly, and you’re getting the double bird right away from a 9-year-old kid,” he said, while holding up his middle finger on both hands. “I would give the bird – I don’t know, can we do that? I’m sure we can blur that out, right?”
ESPN2 did not, in fact, blur it out.
It wasn’t the only eventful Eli moment of the broadcast. At one point, ESPN showed Dak Prescott’s famous pregame routine where he pretends to hold the football and thrusts his hips to warm up. Eli then imitated the routine.
“It’s about torque. Close the left shoulder, open up the hip, boom. These hips don’t lie, I’m like Shakira,” Manning said.
It was an eventful weekend for Eli, who was inducted into the Giants Ring of Honor Sunday night and had his number retired at a ceremony at MetLife Stadium. He was unfortunately treated to yet another miserable loss from the Giants, who blew a late lead to the Falcons in a 17-14 defeat.
