Alabama No. 1 in recruiting ranking after early signing - AL.com

As the early signing day winds down, the class rankings are starting to take shape.

And after Alabama finished No. 5 in last season’s cycle, the Crimson Tide is back on top.

Nick Saban and his staff holds a wide lead in the 247Sports composite ranking of the 2019 signing class. Alabama has 312.24 points in the ranking scale compared to No. 2 Georgia’s 297.87.

The SEC West also has No. 3 and No. 4 with Texas A&M and LSU followed by Oregon.

Alabama announced the signing of 22 players Wednesday evening. The only commitment made on signing day that wasn’t confirmed as a signing by the school was five-star running back Trey Sanders. His IMG Academy teammate, five-star offensive lineman Evan Neal, was part of the announced class at 4 p.m. CT.

Saban said there’s still more work to be done by the second signing day and they large numbers signed Wednesday didn’t signify the end of the 2019 process.
