Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown met with reporters Thursday for the first time since head coach Mike Tomlin said Brown was disciplined for failing to report to work on Monday.
Brown insisted - per several Tweets by Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - that he isn't seeking a trade and is angry because the team is winless through two weeks of the NFL season.
The 30-year-old Brown did not report for team meetings and film review on Monday, and Tomlin was asked about it during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
"I'm looking forward to visiting with him today and discussing that and other things," Tomlin told reporters.
Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said via Twitter that his client "had a personal matter."
Earlier this week, Brown responded to a Tweet suggesting that he wouldn't put up the numbers he does for other teams by Tweeting, "Trade me let's find out."
Brown reportedly left the locker room before media arrived after Pittsburgh's loss Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs. And last week, he threatened an ESPN reporter via Twitter and later issued an apology.
The Steelers are 0-1-1. Their defense allowed 42 points to the Chiefs. Running back Le'Veon Bell has missed both games as he continues his holdout.
The Cincinnati Bengals host the Steelers in Week 6 on Oct. 14 and travel to Pittsburgh for Week 17 on Dec. 30. The Bengals have lost six consecutive games against the Steelers, including the AFC Wild Card Playoff loss in January of 2016.
