Blazers avenge last year's summer league title game loss to Lakers

The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 91-73 in a rematch of last year's summer league title game to cap a perfect 7-0 run in Las Vegas.

  Lakers guard Josh Hart, averaging 24.2 points over six games, was named Las Vegas Summer League MVP. He played so well that Lakers president Magic Johnson said he is forcing his way into the conversation for a starting spot this fall.

With Tuesday's win, the Blazers joined the 2013 Golden State Warriors and 2016 Chicago Bulls as the only teams to finish Las Vegas Summer League play undefeated.

K.J. McDaniels scored a game-high 17 points to earn championship game MVP honors. His Blazers did not trail once in the game.

Summer league MVP Josh Hart scored 12 points on 3-of-12 shooting for the Lakers before he was ejected for criticizing the officials.
