Olivia Culpo couldn’t be more proud of Christian McCaffrey after the 49ers running back put on a historic performance in Sunday’s 31-14 victory over the Rams.
After the Panthers traded McCaffrey to the 49ers last Thursday, he became the first player since 2005 and the 11th player in NFL history with a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in one game.
“Proud is an understatement,” Culpo wrote in an Instagram Story post that included the stat.
In a separate post, the model/actress — who sported a Niners cropped sweatshirt — shared a sweet moment with McCaffrey on the sidelines.
“New beginnings 🌟❤️,” Culpo wrote in the caption of her clip, which showed the couple hugging and kissing. “My whole heart,” she added in another slide.
“Welcome to the family ❤️💛,” the 49ers wrote in the comments.
At one point during the game, Culpo popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate a McCaffrey touchdown.
McCaffrey threw a 34-yard touchdown pass in the first half. In the third quarter, he caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Garoppolo, followed by a touchdown run early in the fourth.
“That’s awesome,” McCaffrey said of the accomplishment. “Obviously those things are really cool. I think the biggest thing is coming out with a win, and playing the second half like that, too. I think the thing I’m most happy about is just this whole team welcoming me in with open arms.”
The running back finished with 94 yards rushing and 55 yards receiving.
McCaffrey is acclimating well to the Niners after being traded to San Francisco from the Carolina Panthers midway through his sixth season.
At the time, Culpo shared that she was going through “so many emotions,” but added that she is “ready for anything” with McCaffrey.
The former Miss Universe also took to Instagram last week to share a tribute to Charlotte, saying “the city stole my heart.” She added that she is grateful for the couple’s next chapter in California, where she has lived for the last eight years.
The 49ers have a bye this week, and will host the Chargers on Nov. 13.
