Kyrie Irving responded via Instagram Friday to the NBA's fine for refusing to participate in media availability, calling for the money to go to marginalized communities and stating: "I do not talk to Pawns." The NBA fined Irving and the Brooklyn Nets $25,000 each for violating league rules governing media access because of "Irving's refusal on several occasions this week to participate in team media availability." The six-time All-Star responded to the fine in an Instagram post. "I pray we utilize the 'fine money' for the marginalized communities in need, especially seeing where our world is presently," Irving wrote. "(I am) I am here for Peace, Love, and Greatness. So stop distracting me and my team, and appreciate the Art. We move different over here. "I do not talk to Pawns. My attention is worth more." The 2016 NBA champion is entering his second year in Brooklyn. He started just 20 games in the 2019-20 season because of knee and shoulder injuries. This is a developing story. More coming.
