NFL Rumors: Latest Updates on Sam Darnold, Ndamukong Suh and More

ARLINGTON, TX - DECEMBER 29: Sam Darnold #14 of the USC Trojans looks to throw against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first half of the 82nd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic between USC and Ohio State at AT&T Stadium on December 29, 2017 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Ron Jenkins/Getty Images)

Wednesday saw some of the bigger-name free agents narrowing down their lists of teams they'd be interested in playing for in 2018.

We'll look at who those players were and also cover incoming rookie and former USC quarterback Sam Darnold here, too.

Let's quit the preamble, cut to the chase and look at these rumors.

Darnold to Be Browns QB?

Holding the No. 1 overall pick, the Cleveland Browns can pick any player they want in the upcoming draft.

One of those guys could be Darnold, and it's sounding like that might come to fruition.

According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, the "overwhelming sense" from Darnold's pro day is that he will be drafted to the Browns No. 1 overall.

Darnold is one of those prospects that NFL draftniks seem to either be on board with or not. They can poke holes in his game such as ball security, but there are things to say about every quarterback in this draft class.

However, some people believe the Browns should select Josh Rosen, who is perhaps the most complete quarterback in this draft.

It's easy to get caught up in an excellent pro day, but it's not everything, like the combine.

If Darnold doesn't go No. 1, still don't expect him to get out of the top three at this point. He will be drafted high.

Pryor Narrows List to Two Teams

Despite a down 2017, wide receiver Terrelle Pryor has received interest from a number of teams around the league.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Pryor has narrowed his list to the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.

Of the two teams, the Seahawks are better for Pryor.

The Jets are equipped with fairly average quarterback play, whereas the Seahawks, though they're not expected to be as good in 2018, still have quarterback Russell Wilson.

Not only that, but Pryor would line up opposite fellow wide receiver Doug Baldwin.

Pryor could be in for a big statistical season if he signs with the Seahawks.

He could still put up a solid stat line with the Jets and Josh McCown or Teddy Bridgewater throwing him the ball in New York, but offensively the Seahawks are just better at this point.

But this is important to keep in mind—after only receiving a one-year deal last offseason, Pryor could be a bit more inclined to accept the higher offer to make as much money as he can in this business.

Some fallback options for the "losing" team here could be Willie Snead or Cameron Meredith—both restricted free agents but worth the hassle.

This should come to a head fairly soon.

Suh Cancels Raiders Visit; Down to Three Teams

After a few visits with teams, Suh could be ready to make a decision about his future shortly, it seems.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Suh has decided to forego his meeting with the Oakland Raiders to go back home and mull over his options.

Rapoport noted that the Rams left a "strong impression" on him but also reported he's considering the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints offers.

The Titans and Rams can offer a solid amount of money, but the balance of money and winning could be important to Suh at this point as he's in his 30s.

If that's the case, the Rams are the easy pick here with Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers on potentially the same defensive line as Suh.

However, the Titans may be confident after releasing defensive tackle Sylvester Williams a few days ago.

Sure, the contract he had and the play he displayed meant the deal did not make sense, but the Titans have a glaring hole at this position now—one that could be filled and then some by Suh.

The Saints need Suh to compete in this exceedingly competitive NFC environment, but this will ultimately come down to the Rams and Titans in the end.

The Saints have no money to spend at the moment as they have less than $3 million in cap space.

My prediction has been the Titans all along—a team with a young nucleus with the ability to compete much more in a weaker AFC, though the New England Patriots still exist.

Expect Suh, like Pryor, to have a decision here fairly soon.
