Bob Glauber's NFL mini-mock draft

1. Browns. Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

The Browns’ trade for Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor gives them the flexibility to take the highly-regarded Barkley, who wowed scouts at the combine during individual drills.

2. Giants. Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

The Giants also are enamored with Barkley, and there’s plenty of speculation they’d take him if he’s available. But if he’s gone, the Giants can focus on their need for an heir apparent to Eli Manning. Rosen checks that box.

3. Colts. Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina State

The Colts haven’t been the same without pass rushers Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney.

4. Browns. Sam Darnold, QB, USC

Taylor is by no means the Browns’ quarterback of the future, so if Darnold still is available, he’s a smart choice here, especially after the Browns dealt DeShone Kizer to the Packers.

5. Broncos. Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

John Elway loves Mayfield’s competitiveness, and after missing badly on Paxton Lynch in the first round in 2016, Elway goes quarterback again.

6. Jets, Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

The big-armed quarterback had a terrific showing at the combine, which won’t completely erase concerns about his poor completion percentage in college but certainly improves his stock heading into the draft. One caveat: If Darnold is available at No. 4, the Jets could make a move up to take him.

7. Buccaneers. Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama

The Bucs were horrendous in pass defense last year, and Fitzpatrick provides an immediate upgrade at a critical need.

8. Bears. Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame

Draft expert Mike Mayock considers Nelson one of the top two prospects in this draft (Barkley is the other), and Nelson slips this far, the Bears have themselves an elite guard for the next dozen years.

9. 49ers. Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia

With 2017 first-round linebacker Reuben Foster facing potential discipline for off-field issues, the 49ers can again think linebacker here. The prospect of Smith teaming with Foster addresses a major need.

10. Raiders. Vita Vea, DT, Washington

Raiders need to upgrade the front seven in a big way, and Vea’s powerful inside presence on the line is a major step in that direction.
