Former NFL star Aldon Smith was arrested once again in San Francisco, according to a report from Evan Sernoffsky of the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 28-year-old allegedly violated a court order by contacting the accuser in his domestic violence case, in which he has pleaded not guilty. He turned himself in Friday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The court case revolves around an alleged March 3 assault on his fiancee, Shawna McKnight. Smith entered himself into rehabilitation two days later after calling McKnight's parents to take him to a facility, according to TMZ Sports.
Smith turned himself in to the police the next day and was charged with domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, per ESPN.
He was released by the Oakland Raiders following the initial arrest, although he hasn't played in an NFL game since 2015. He was indefinitely suspended that year for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Following additional problems with the law, he has not been reinstated by the league.
