Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy set the record for fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine after he clocked a blazing 4.21.
The previous record was set by former Washington Huskies WR John Ross III after he ran 4.22 back in 2017.
Worthy's record-breaking time caught the attention of many around the NFL universe as they took to social media to react to his 40-yard dash.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes chimed in on X posting '4.25... crazzyyyy,' in reaction to Worthy's first 40 time, before later sharing several laughing emojis and saying 'my bad 4.22.'
During his final season with the Longhorns, Worthy pulled in five receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games.
During his three-year career with the Longhorns, Worthy totaled 197 receptions, 2,755 yards, and 26 touchdowns.
His speed has been well chronicled this year even before the 40-yard dash after he was clocked hitting a top speed of 22.7 mph while returning a punt for a touchdown in Week 12 against Iowa State that was called back due to a penalty.
That number ended up ranking as the highest clocked speed of any player in college football in 2023.
It is also slightly faster than the speed Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf turned in after hitting 22.23 mph against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.
Worthy was expected by many to be a Day 2 draft selection and the boost to his stock after Saturday's 40 will likely solidify him a place in either the second or third round.
