Yes, the New York Jets are flying high after upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals, 34-31, on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

And yes, unheralded backup quarterback Mike White is a big reason why the Jets got back into the win column.

But White’s breakthrough performance didn’t get the Jets’ front office off the hook with NBC Sports NFL insider Peter King, who’s still shaking his head about last week’s trade for Philadelphia Eagles QB Joe Flacco after rookie Zach Wilson went down with a sprained knee. King had four specific problems with Jets management:

- It was “absurd” that the Jets went into the season without a veteran backup QB on the roster to help Wilson adjust to the NFL.

- The Jets lost a draft pick (fifth- or sixth-rounder depending on Flacco’s playing time) they “very much need for a position that should’ve been filled last spring.”

- Flacco, despite living just 90 minutes away, did not report to the Jets until Friday for personal reasons, missing practice all week. Flacco was inactive for Sunday’s game.

- Owner Woody Johnson gave general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh the dreaded vote of confidence last week.

Blah blah blah. With decisions like the backup QB, and the performance of the worst team in the AFC by far, votes of confidence are meaningless to fans who have seen this movie forever with the Jets.
