This week being Thanksgiving, I just wanted to give thanks to all of you. Some might not understand my poking fun is always tongue-in-cheek, sarcasm and/or snark. It’s my personality, and it can be difficult to see the smirking smile in my responses sometimes. So, I want to be clear… I’m THANKFUL for all of you since you make this dream job possible.
Of course, I’m enormously thankful for The Athletic — Nando, Brandon and everyone else — but without readers/followers, I wouldn’t be here, no matter how good I was at fantasy sports. So, while I’m also thankful for family, friends, everyone who reached out while I was/am still dealing with duck poop, etc., you all get the special intro-to-the-ranks thanks.
That’s it. Okay, maybe a ranking of the comments that make me the snarkiest?
8. “Did I win this trade?” — It’s too late/doesn’t matter… and I don’t want you to feel bad if I don’t like it
7. “You have Player X ranked Z, but I think ____ and ____ and ____.” — It’s your team. Trust your gut, and if you have a list of reasons already, why are you even asking me then?
6. “Where would X rank if Y is out?” — Updates come daily with tons of updates when inactives announced… always
5. “What should I look for in a trade?” — I struggle to answer 1,000 comments… can’t manage 1,000 teams too… at least come up with the trade idea and present it
4. Anything from my Brain link — Weather, waiting on players, trade strategy, etc.
