Two more positive COVID results for Tennessee Titans puts Week 5 game against Buffalo Bills in doubt - Buffalo Rumblings

The Tennessee Titans have had two more players test positive for the coronavirus. The tests, administered Tuesday, were returned Wednesday morning before the team’s facility could open. The Titans have now had 22 people test positive since September 24th, including ten players.

There had been no new positives over the last two days and players were set to return to practice today to prepare for the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. It now seems incredibly unlikely that game will proceed as scheduled.

The Titans’ facility has been shut down since last Tuesday morning when a flood of positive tests swept through the team. Now the soonest it can reopen will be Saturday. That’s not enough time for them to prepare for a game against the Bills on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the game can’t be pushed back because the Bills play the Kansas City Chiefs on the following Thursday. NFL schedule-makers are now going to have to make major changes to the league’s calendar. The Titans have already rescheduled their game from Week 4 into their pre-existing bye week. It’s also possible that the game could be cancelled or forfeited, as multiple national reporters are speculating this morning.
