In a low-scoring and mistake-filled affair marred by even more injuries to two already injury-ravaged teams, the Eagles lead the 49ers by a score of 8-7 at halftime. Things started off slowly, with Carson Wentz short-arming his first throw into the ground and later throwing an interception on Philly's second drive of the game. He eventually found something of a rhythm with wide receiver Greg Ward, but Wentz did most of his first-half damage with his legs, rushing three times for 24 yards and a score, after which the Eagles added a two-point conversion. Miles Sanders struggled to get untracked, but that's somewhat understandable with three offensive linemen sidelined to start the game and Pro Bowl tackle Lane Johnson going down early on as well. 

On the other side of the ball, Nick Mullens found a rapport with George Kittle (6 of 6 for 89 yards) but struggled to complete passes to anyone else (3 of 8 for 30 yards and an interception). He also made a bad decision to cost the Niners a chance at a scoring drive that would have given them the lead. For the most part, he was simply asked to get the ball into the hands of Kittle, Deebo Samuel (two touches, a catch and a run, for 27 total yards) and Brandon Aiyuk. The rookie took a smoke screen from Mullens 38 yards to the house, breaking several tackles and hurdling a defender along the way. (The play was ruled a run because the pass went backwards.) 

Each team had several second-quarter opportunities to score but couldn't manage to put a full drive together. And so, we entered the half with a score of 8-7 Philadelphia.
