The Las Vegas Raiders found their replacement for Nelson Agholor.
According to longtime NFL reporter Adam Caplan, the Raiders have agreed to terms with the former Buffalo Bills’ receiver at less than $4 million for one season.
Unless the Raiders try to sign a big ticket receiver such as Kenny Golladay or JuJu Smith-Schuster, this is their primary receiver add in free agency. They were also connected to A.J. Green and Marvin Jones. With so many other needs, this may be the one free-agent addition at the position.
I’d expect Brown to play an Agholor-like role in Las Vegas. Let’s see if he can be as reliable as Agholor was in 2020, who had 48 catches and eight touchdowns for the Raiders before cashing in on a big deal with the New England Patriots this week.
Brown has been more productive than Agholor in his career, so there is hope.
Brown, who can stretch the field, had 33 catches in nine games last season. He had 72 receptions in 2019 and fit in a highly productive passing game. He should be a strong fit and still allow second-year players Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards develop into big producers,
If Brown can stay healthy, this is a decent addition at a reasonable price.
