4 winners and 3 losers from the Chiefs’ Week 11 win over the Raiders - Arrowhead Pride

What we thought would be a blowout turned into a shootout in primetime, and it is starting to feel like a rivalry again.

Sunday’s game came with varying feelings — Kansas City Chiefs fans can be simultaneously frustrated at the mistakes and the defensive performance while being in awe of the greatest player on the planet. A win is a win, and this was an important one.

Here are some players who stood out on Sunday night against the Las Vegas Raiders:

Winners

• Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Two scores and some really tough running for the rookie helped keep the Chiefs’ offense moving. He showed off his full arsenal, including a nasty spin move in the run game, but he still hasn’t gotten too involved in the passing game. Perhaps Reid is saving that for the playoff run?
• Travis Kelce: It seems like Kelce is on this list every week, but it’s just that kind of season for the future Hall of Fame tight end (Yes, that’s weird to say). Eight for 127 and the game-winning touchdown against the Raiders. Nobody does it better than Kelce.
• Tyreek Hill: We might be getting spoiled with Kelce and Tyreek Hill. Hill converted 14 targets into 11 catches, 102 yards and a touchdown. He’s as complete as any receiver in the league, as he showed off strong hands and crisp route running against the Raiders. It’s almost unfair to be as quick and fast as Hill and still be as technically sound.
• Patrick Mahomes: Andy Reid said it best: when you’ve got Mahomes and time, you’re good. Mahomes ran the two-minute drill with ice water in his veins. The final touchdown was a thing of beauty — as he moved around the pocket, manipulated the defense and threw on the run. The MVP race is over.

• Chiefs pass rush: Coming into this week, it was about making Derek Carr uncomfortable. From the opening drive on, he looked as comfortable as we’ve ever seen him. The Chiefs allowed Carr to once again to pick apart their defense, without any real threat of getting sacked. Maybe it’s something specific about the Raiders offense that makes it impossible for Chris Jones and Frank Clark to get to the quarterback. Or maybe the Chiefs lack enough explosive pass rushers. Either way, until they figure something out, this could be a real problem down the stretch.
• Demarcus Robinson: Robinson is on this team because he does all of the little things that help the offense. But too often, he also makes mistakes that end drives. Whether it is drops or penalties, breaking off his route, which causes an interception, it’s frustrating to see one receiver on a group this talented be an issue so often.
• Juan Thornhill: It was noticeable all night: the Raiders were having their way with the Chiefs coverage over the middle of the field, and Thornhill was nowhere to be seen. After hitting his season-low in snaps (11), on a night when his skill set could have been useful, his coach said this:
