Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson tests positive for coronavirus - msnNOW
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has tested positive for coronavirus.
Titans and Ravens trending in opposite directions
What to watch next
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed Jackson's positive COVID-19 test to USA TODAY Sports' Mike Jones. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the issue.
NFL Network was the first to report the positive test.
The Ravens reported additional positive tests earlier Thursday, the day their game against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers was originally scheduled to be played. The contest has been postponed to Sunday at 1:15 p.m. ET on NBC. All signs point to backup Robert Griffin III starting behind center with Jackson out.
Griffin took to Twitter late Thursday to express support for his teammates and to say that dealing with "this outbreak within the team is bigger than football."
Praying for my brother @Lj_era8 and every player, staff member and their families dealing with COVID-19. Ensuring the safety of the entire organization is important.
Handling this outbreak within the team is bigger than football
The Ravens are currently confronting an outbreak, with positive tests coming in on four consecutive days. The Ravens have already placed a total of nine players on the COVID-19/reserve list this week, and they have had several staff members also test positive.
Because of the outbreak, the Ravens' facility will be off limits at least until Monday, coach John Harbaugh confirmed to ESPN Thursday night. They will have to finish their preparations for Pittsburgh remotely or at another location.
If Sunday's game is played, then they have quick turnaround for a Thursday game at home against the Cowboys.

32. Jets (Previous: 32): And they're officially the first team eliminated from playoff contention, the one thing the Jets are able to do at the speed of sound.
31. Jaguars (30): RB James Robinson needs just 318 more yards from scrimmage to break the rookie record (1,328) for an undrafted player established by Dominic Rhodes in 2001.
30. Bengals (27): Injured Joe Burrow's replacement, second-year QB Ryan Finley, has never looked remotely competent at the NFL level, completing half of his passes just once in five pro appearances. Cincinnati may not be competitive the rest of the way.
Eagles QB Carson Wentz is having a difficult season.
28. Cowboys (31): Dallas has had some pretty nifty receivers through the decades. WR CeeDee Lamb's 48 catches are already the most for any Cowboys rookie ... though crazy to ponder campaign he could have had if QB Dak Prescott hadn't gone down.
27. Washington (29): Offensive ascent has essentially coincided with QB Alex Smith's return to lineup. The WFT has scored 20+ points in four straight games for the first time in three years.
26. Lions (19): Sure, they didn't score Sunday. But at least they didn't look bad in the red zone ... but only because they never even got that far.
24. Texans (28): QB Deshaun Watson won't get any MVP love ... and yet he generates nearly 84% of Houston's offense, so imagine what this team would be without him.
23. Chargers (25): If you were concerned about a Samson issue after QB Justin Herbert was shorn by strength coach John Lott, welp ... the rookie had one of his best days despite looking like a 12-year-old without his helmet.
22. Bears (20): A spiraling team trying to break a four-game skid draws Green Bay while trying to decide between two injured and decidedly average quarterbacks. What could go wrong?
21. Vikings (18): Decent chance WR Justin Jefferson can become sixth Minnesota player named offensive rookie of the year during the Super Bowl era, which would be most of any franchise.
20. Patriots (16): Time was, running the ball effectively and playing solid defense equated to contending status. And yet this is the worst Patriots team in 20 years.
19. Broncos (24): Major roster questions loom given two of their top players of 2020, emergent LT Garett Bolles and S Justin Simmons, are headed for free agency.
18. Falcons (17): WR Calvin Ridley is on course to be their first leading receiver not named Julio Jones since ... Harry Douglas in 2013.
17. Panthers (21): It's time to start talking about sophomore DE Brian Burns, who's quietly emerging as one of the league's best young pass rushers.
16. 49ers (22): Needed reinforcements could be on way coming out of bye week – Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman and Deebo Samuel all on cusp of rejoining stagnant offense.
15. Browns (15): Cleveland can become the first franchise with two pairs of single-season 1,000-yard rushers, RBs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt with a great shot to join the 1985 duo of Kevin Mack and Earnest Byner.
14. Raiders (13): Maybe they should've just become a traveling road show given how much better they play away from home (4-1 this season). They visit the Falcons and Jets over the next two weeks.
13. Dolphins (7): “I expected it to be a lot harder,” rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa said of the NFL after his 3-0 start. As his humble pie digests, Tua prepares for the Jets ... who will likely restore his hubris.
12. Ravens (6): They've suddenly lost three of four and are now depleted by COVID-19 in a short week when they have to go to Pittsburgh. But too soon to panic given Baltimore should be heavily favored in its final five games.
11. Cardinals (8): First-rounder Isaiah Simmons is slowly starting to establish himself, recording his first sack Thursday as his playing time finally trends upward.
10. Seahawks (14): Big opportunity to cement a playoff spot, their next four games against East Coast teams – none with more than three victories.
9. Bills (12): Pretty good bye week given their AFC East lead on Miami grew to a full game. But defense that didn't give up more than 31 points in 2019 is still a concern given Buffalo has been burned for 32+ four times already in 2020.
8. Titans (11): RB Derrick Henry is on pace to be the first player since Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson in 2007 to win consecutive rushing titles. King Henry is also on pace for 1,726 yards on the ground, which would beat his personal best by nearly 200 yards.
7. Packers (5): Green Bay fans have a pretty lofty reputation, so we'll presume it was deranged fantasy owners making death threats to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling after his backbreaking overtime fumble Sunday. Sickening.
6. Colts (10): I was tempted to vault them into the No. 1 spot once I realized they play U2 to celebrate victories at Lucas Oil Stadium. Thankfully, my professionalism kicked in for a change.
5. Buccaneers (4): Anyone noticed they've rushed for fewer than 90 yards in more than half their games? The passing weaponry is flashy but not nearly as lethal when the offense is so frequently unbalanced.
4. Rams (9): Massive win in Tampa vaulted them from NFC's projected sixth seed all the way up to No. 2 while conferring NFC West lead. But much could change with four divisional games yet to play.
3. Saints (3): Pretty remarkable to think they're 6-0 without QB Drew Brees since the start of 2019 season. Yet worth noting defense has really stepped up, too, allowing just 16.8 points per outing sans Brees.
2. Chiefs (2): Including last year's postseason, they've scored at least 23 points in 24 consecutive games ... and that's a league record. The Bucs must step in front of this freight train Sunday afternoon.
1. Steelers (1): Sweep a depleted Baltimore team on Thanksgiving night, and talk of the league's second-ever 16-0 regular season should really ramp up. Pittsburgh may also sew up NFL's first 2020 playoff birth in Week 12.
