Braves Feature Same Lineup, Jazz Chisholm gets start for Marlins - Talking Chop

As the old saying goes, “Why fix what is not broken!”

Though the Braves offense has struggled a bit with situational hitting, they have more than made up for it through the long ball. With a chance to advance on the line, the Braves are fully focused on finishing the job today to enjoy some time off before the NLCS.

Though it may be a bit of nitpicking, if there is hope for improvement, a good day from Freddie Freeman and Adam Duvall against a talent like Sixto Sanchez would be an encouraging development. Four games is four games, and both Freeman and Duvall had big hits against the Reds. However, if both players can contribute to a comfortable lead or come through big in a close game, it will once again show just how strong the depth of the Braves offense can be.

The usual names are in the Marlins lineup for Game 3, except Matt Joyce will sit and Jazz Chisholm will get the start. It is a bit of an odd move, as though its only over a small sample size, Chisholm produced a .443 OPS against right handed pitching this season. Joyce has a .803 OPS against right handers in over 3,700 career plate appearances. Against a right hander making his first career postseason start with a history of inconsistencies like Kyle Wright, it seems Joyce offers the better chance to get a big hit than Chisholm. It will be interesting to see if this choice works for or against the Marlins in today’s game.
