NFL Draft 2019: How many picks do Giants have after Eli Apple, Damon Harrison trades?

The Giants are up to nine draft picks for the 2019 NFL Draft and likely are not done acquiring more draft capital before Monday's NFL trade deadline. Defensive starters Damon Harrison and Eli Apple were shipped out and Janoris Jenkins reportedly is drawing interest around the NFL.

Gettleman did not make any draft day trades in 2018, though he tried to move up into the end of the second round to take linebacker Lorenzo Carter. He ended up getting Carter near the top of the third round, anyway. 

Gettleman beforehand acquired an extra third-rounder in exchange for veteran Jason Pierre-Paul from the Buccaneers. Pierre-Paul has six sacks for the Buccaneers, but rookie B.J. Hill looks promising as the eventual return piece. He also sent two 2018 draft picks to the Rams for linebacker Alec Ogletree and a 2019 draft pick.

Gettleman's five-year track record with the Panthers included several draft trade-ups but no trade downs. He now has some extra picks to parlay or use as insurance on trading other future picks, maybe from the second round to another first-rounder or possibly at the top of the draft if the Giants do not end up with the No. 1 overall pick.

Here is a look at the Giants' draft picks in the 2019 NFL Draft:

1st round: Giants own their own pick

2nd round: Giants own their own pick

3rd round: Giants do NOT have a pick (used on cornerback Sam Beal in NFL Supplemental Draft)

4th round: Giants own their own pick and Saints pick (acquired for Apple), possible compensatory pick

5th round: Giants own their own pick and Lions pick (acquired for Harrison)

6th round: Giants own their own pick

7th round: Giants own picks originally belonging to Rams (acquired as part of trade for Ogletree) and Vikings (acquired for Brett Jones) but not their own pick (sent to Broncos for punter Riley Dixon)
