Nate Diaz is laughing at Tony Ferguson after knee injury bounced 'El Cucuy' from UFC 223 main event

He’s not surprised, motherfuckers.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson injured his knee and was forced to withdraw from the upcoming UFC 223 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, scheduled for Sat., April 7, 2018 inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

And top 155-pound contender Nate Diaz thinks it’s hilarious.

“Lol these guys can’t even make it to war,” Diaz wrote on Twitter. “They winging this whole shit.”

Diaz knows a thing or two about stepping up on super-short notice, having replaced the injured Rafael dos Anjos against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 back in April 2016. Filling in for “El Cucuy” will be reigning featherweight kingpin and betting underdog Max Holloway.

While the promotion may indeed be “winging it,” there wasn’t much to choose from in terms of potential replacements. “Notorious” was not an option (because of this) and Diaz is currently on Dana White’s shit list.

We’ll see who gets the last laugh this weekend in “The Empire State.”
