Yep, Tom Brady's played in as many Super Bowls as Philadelphia's entire roster

Tom Brady has played in several Super Bowls, ICYMI. He holds the record for most Super Bowls played in and is tied with former Cowboys/49ers defender Charles Haley for the most rings, with five each. The Philadelphia Eagles have not played in very many, either as a franchise (three, counting 2018’s) or as a roster. In fact*:

Note nearly half of Philly’s seven Super Bowl experience points before this game against New England came viaNew England, lol. Also, the franchise as a whole will have spent two thirds of its Super Bowl time in games against the Pats, having lost the 2005 game to Brady’s team.

* The wording is key, since it only counts players on Philly’s active roster who actually played in previous Super Bowls. Bleeding Green Nation notes a couple other Eagles who come pretty close to the criteria:

Offensive tackle Will Beatty was with the Giants the year they beat the Patriots in Super Bowl 46, but after suffering a detached retina in late-November against (ironically) Philadelphia, Beatty underwent emergency surgery and was on IR to finish out the year. So while he does have a Super Bowl ring, this will be his first time actually playing on the big stage.
One of the best special team players in the league, Chris Maragos was added to the Eagles IR in mid-October thanks to a knee injury. He might not be able to suit up for Super Bowl 52, but his experience in the championship game will certainly come in handy. Maragos won a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Seattle Seahawks.

Probably not very much. It’s a fun stat!

We do see little details every year that demonstrate varying experience levels. Last year, some Falcons expressed surprise at how the long halftime made the day drag on, saying it might’ve contributed to late fatigue. Not really a problem for the Pats, who’ve made Super Bowls routine by now.

But since every New England Super Bowl win has come down to the wire, it’s clear the Pats haven’t tapped into secret powers that are unavailable to everybody else.
