Boston-based WEEI might be one quarterback guest short going forward, after a station host mocked Tom Brady’s daughter while discussing the “Tom vs. Time” documentary on-air.
Brady, 40, who makes weekly Monday appearances on “Kirk & Callahan,” said he was disappointed by the remarks and is now debating his future with the sports show, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
“I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and showed you guys a lot of respect,” Brady said Monday, cutting the interview short after a little over two minutes. “I’ve always tried and come on and do a good job for you guys. It’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. My daughter, or any child, certainly don’t deserve that.
“I really don’t have much to say about it this morning.”
While dissecting Brady’s Facebook docu-series on Thursday, WEEI’s Alex Reimer called 5-year-old Vivian Brady “an annoying little pissant.”
WEEI has since scrubbed the audio from its site and suspended Reimer on Friday. But the damage had been done.
As for Brady, he and his healing hand are preparing to chase their sixth Lombardi Trophy with the Patriots on Sunday in Super Bowl LII. Wife Gisele Bündchen, as well as their children, are expected to watch the game in Minnesota.
