Sneed, Okafor and Hardman will be active for Chiefs-Raiders game - Arrowhead Pride

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players in advance of their Week 11 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football.

As expected, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and defensive end Alex Okafor will suit up for the game after being activated from injured reserve on Saturday. Sneed has missed six games after breaking his collarbone in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens, while Okafor has been out for the last three games after sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills. Mecole Hardman — just removed from the reserve/COVID list on Saturday — will be active for the game.

On Saturday, wide receiver Sammy Watkins (hamstring/calf) was downgraded to out for this game after being listed as questionable in the Chiefs’ final injury report on Friday. On Wednesday — after a week of rest during the bye — there had been hope that Watkins might be ready to return for this game, but that hope disappeared as he was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday. He has been out since Week 6.

Defensive end Taco Charlton (ankle) didn’t practice all week and was listed as out on Friday’s report. The Chiefs also placed him on injured reserve on Saturday. Under special rules for injured reserve, both he and Schwartz will be on the reserve list for a minimum of three weeks.

Backup offensive lineman Mike Remmers (rib) was listed as questionable on Friday, but he will be available to play on Sunday night. He is expected to start in place of starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, whom the Chiefs placed on injured reserve on Saturday. But if Remmers doesn’t start — or if his rib injury flares up during the game — expect undrafted rookie Yasir Durant to take his place on the right side of the line.

Practice squad wide receiver Gehrig Dieter and offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann were elevated to the active roster for this game. Under single-game elevation rules, both will automatically return to the practice squad on Monday.

The rest of the Chiefs inactives should be considered healthy scratches. Defensive end Tim Ward will be inactive for his first game since being activated to the roster on November 12. Defensive tackle Khalen Saunders will not suit up for his third consecutive game. Safety Tedric Thompson will miss his second-straight game.

The Raiders have also released their inactives list.

The Raiders had listed defensive tackle Maurice Hurst (ankle) as a limited participant in practice all week and designated him as questionable for the game. Running back Jalen Richard (chest) didn’t practice at all this week and also received a questionable designation on Friday. Neither will play against the Chiefs.

This week, the bigger story has been number of players on the team’s reserve/COVID list. As many as nine Raiders defenders had been on the list this week — but on Saturday, six of them were returned to the roster: defensive end Arden Key, defensive backs Johnathan Abram and Isaiah Johnson, defensive tackles Maliek Collins, Johnathan Hankins and Kendal Vickers. All of them will be active against the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, defensive end Clelin Ferrell, right tackle Trent Brown and linebacker Cory Littleton remain on the Raiders’ reserve/COVID list and will not be available on Sunday night.

Practice squad defensive end David Irving also came off the COVID list on Saturday and has been elevated to the active roster for the game, along with defensive end Chris Smith and defensive back Javin White.
