Cowboys cancel practice in response to staffer’s medical emergency - The Dallas Morning News

*Editor’s note: This is a developing story.

The Cowboys canceled practice Tuesday in response to what is considered a highly concerning medical situation involving a team staffer.

The staffer’s identity is not being reported at this time out of respect for the matter’s sensitivity and potential gravity. The club issued a news release Tuesday in which it announced the cancellation, adding that the medical reason is unrelated to COVID-19.

A Frisco police spokesperson said that paramedics responded to The Star at 7:30 a.m., and no foul play is suspected. The emergency does not directly involve Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who made a local radio appearance about an hour following the paramedics’ arrival.

Coach Mike McCarthy previously was scheduled to address reporters at 10:30 a.m. He won’t.

Players were scheduled to speak with media in the afternoon. That was canceled, too.

Dallas is on a short week, scheduled to play the Washington Football Team on Thursday at AT&T Stadium.
