Steph had one request when asked to rep Warriors at lottery - Comcast SportsNet Bay Area

It hasn't even been 24 hours since the Minnesota Timberwolves won the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery on Thursday night, and the truth is that nobody has any clue who will be the No. 1 overall pick.

But obviously, the oddsmakers need to do their job.

And the folks at the sportsbook "PointsBet" have Anthony Edwards in the pole position.

The Warriors own the rights to the No. 2 overall pick, and their decision could significantly be impacted by what Minnesota does first.

ESPN's Jonathan Givony has LaMelo Ball going No. 1, and Edwards slipping to No. 2.

Stadium's Jeff Goodman also has the T-Wolves taking Ball with the first overall pick, but he has Golden State choosing James Wiseman.

The Athletic's Sam Vecenie agrees with Goodman that the Warriors will choose Wiseman, but he went with Edwards at No. 1.

"If I lock in every time on the defensive end, nobody's better than me in the draft," Edwards told Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks before the NBA season was shut down in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. "Of course I feel like I can score the best. I can pass, rebound -- all type of stuff.

"But I feel like defense is gonna separate everybody in the draft."

Regardless of what the Georgia product believes, there isn't a consensus top selection this year. So note to Warriors fans everywhere -- be prepared for rampant speculation over the next couple of months.

It's going to be a wild ride.
