All is not well in Lakerland after all. Despite seemingly turning things around in their Game 2 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, many of their previous flaws continue to rear their ugly heads. The Lakers are only 3-of-12 on 3-pointers. They've missed 13 free throws. Their rotations remain questionable at best. And unsurprisingly, that has given Portland a 57-53 lead going into halftime of this one.
The Blazers, unlike the Lakers, know exactly who they are. Everything is running through Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, who have 39 combined points at the half. The Lakers, meanwhile, can't get their stars going at the same time. Anthony Davis led the way in Game 2 with 31 points. He has only six points so far. LeBron James, meanwhile, has 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. The Lakers don't have a particularly deep roster. Their best players have to dominate at all times. They haven't, and the Blazers lead as a result.
