Players to Buy

Josh Jacobs (RB – OAK)
A lot of fantasy players have recognized Le’Veon Bell’s easy strength of schedule, but not everyone has caught on to Jacobs’ easy schedule for the remainder of the season. He’s going to play the Chargers, Bengals, Jets, and Chiefs over the next month, which should help propel you into the fantasy playoffs.

Odell Beckham Jr. (WR – CLE)
We really should’ve expected a few weak games out of him considering he was going against what might be the two best cornerbacks in football the last two weeks in Stephon Gilmore and Chris Harris Jr., but owners are likely ready to sell him for any usable piece. While the Bills are no easy matchup, they don’t have a shadow cornerback, so Beckham should be reliable for this week. After that, he gets the Steelers (twice), Dolphins, Bengals, Cardinals, and Ravens. Beckham should finish the year a lot stronger than how he started.

David Montgomery (RB – CHI)
Sure, he scored two touchdowns against the Eagles, but his owners likely feel a bit relieved considering how bad the offense looked. The truth is that the Bears are going to move the ball through Montgomery moving forward in a workhorse role. After Matt Nagy said they’re going to run the ball more, Montgomery has touched the ball 48 times in two games. With the Lions, Rams, Giants, and Lions (again) on the upcoming schedule, there’s an opportunity for Montgomery to turn those touches into big fantasy totals.

Devin Singletary (RB – BUF)
Some may think Singletary was just a product of positive game script, but that’s not the case. The Bills have had Frank Gore on the field for just 38-of-121 snaps the last two weeks and he’s been declining in efficiency. Meanwhile, Singletary offers big-play potential, and he showed that off in Week 9 in what should be considered his breakout performance. He should offer RB2/3 stability moving forward.

Tom Brady (QB – NE)
There are many die-hard fantasy football players who refused to draft Brady at his advanced age. While he might be the best of all-time, being great in fantasy was something much different. If you were one of those people, you need to get over it quickly and make a trade for Brady. Despite outscoring their opponents nearly four to one and knowing how well the defense has played, Brady has averaged near 40 pass attempts per game. Because of that, he’s constantly in the QB1 conversation. If you can move someone like Kyler Murray for him, you should.

Players to Sell

Nick Chubb (RB – CLE)
You shouldn’t just give Chubb away, because he’s a rock-solid running back who’s performed despite the offense struggling consistently. The issue is that we don’t know how the Browns coaching staff plans to implement Kareem Hunt. You have to think he’s going to get at least Austin Ekeler-type opportunities (8-12 touches per game), which puts Chubb in the timeshare territory. If you’re able to get high-end RB1 value for Chubb, you’ll eliminate some question marks as we head towards the fantasy playoffs.

Todd Gurley (RB – LAR)
He’s now scored six touchdowns over the last four games, which could lead many to believe he’s back. The matchups have dictated a lot of that success, but the big part that many will miss is that the Rams are going to limit his snaps/touches since returning from the quad injury. In fact, Darrell Henderson finished Week 8 with more touches than Gurley. Sure, the game wasn’t all that close, but we would’ve seen Gurley get 20-plus touches in that same matchup last year. He’s still in the high-end RB2 conversation but put the feelers out there to an RB-needy team.

David Johnson (RB – ARI)
We may be getting closer to a Johnson return, but what happens when he does? The Cardinals didn’t trade a fifth-round pick for Kenyan Drake as a one-week rent-a-player, and he didn’t look like a backup running back against the 49ers last week. Once Johnson does return (if he does), this is likely to be somewhat of a timeshare between the two. They have a date with the Bucs this week, 49ers the following week, and then their bye in Week 12. Johnson looks more like a middling RB2 than the RB1 he was drafted as.

Robert Woods (WR – LAR)
It hasn’t been good for Woods and it might not get better looking at the situation he’s in. Over the last three games, he’s totaled just 93 air yards, which is an indicator of the opportunity a receiver has. Over those games, that ranked 76th among receivers, behind Tajae Sharpe. Some may think it’s a time to buy-low on Woods, but there’s real concern with him moving forward.

Kenyan Drake (RB – ARI)
It seems as if David Johnson is close to returning, which is going to obviously hurt Drake’s fantasy stock. While he’s likely carved out some sort of role for himself, he’s got more value right now than he likely ever will. If you’re sitting on Drake, offer him up to the Johnson owner as a handcuff. With the Bucs up next on the schedule, it’s going to be tough sledding for whoever is in the backfield.

Adrian Peterson (RB – WAS)
He’s now totaled at least 76 rushing yards in each of the four games since Jay Gruden was fired, though the pending return of Derrius Guice in Week 11 means the clock is ticking. While Bill Callahan is surely going to run the ball quite a bit, it’ll be a split between the two, essentially cutting Peterson’s floor in half. Knowing he’s not involved at all in the passing game, he’s not someone you’ll be able to confidently start.
