Watch Taulia Tagovailoa, brother of Tua, commit to Alabama

Taulia Tagovailoa, the brother of Tua Tagovailoa, committed to Alabama on Saturday.

The four-star quarterback prospect and member of the 2019 recruiting class announced the decision at Alabama's A-Day spring game.

Tagovailoa, a 5-foot-11, 203-pound pro-style passer who plays at Thompson High School in Alabaster, had 13 offers, according to 247Sports. Among the schools that tendered him a scholarship were Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska and Lane Kiffin's Florida Atlantic program.

"He and Tua are so very similar in the many ways you can see just watching them play," Thompson head coach Mark Freeman told AL.com. "You see a lot of Tua in Taulia because of how they both play, the throws and decisions they make. I don't know how anyone in the state could have done more for their team did Taulia did for us this year. He came in here and acted like he'd been here his whole life. The kids accepted him right away, and that is why we were so successful."

The Tagovailoa family moved to Alabama in the spring of 2017 after his older brother had begun practicing with the Crimson Tide.

Tua Tagovailoa is competing to be the starting quarterback this season after spurring a second-half comeback in Alabama's overtime victory over Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship game in January.
